The Sparlockian Voice is a poor choice of a title for the official newsletter. Only a select people will get the humour in it. To anyone else, it might sound like a title for an episode on Star Trek. 'Captain - these transmissions we have intercepted contain... the Sparlockian Voice!'

even if everyone who was alive in 1920 survived armageddon, if it was to come today, would that amount to millions of people?
according to wikipedia there are 316,600 people who are a 100 years old or older.
Those few hundred thousand people remaining from 1920 would also have to be either Witnesses or those who have never been preached to and never had the choice. The ones who did manage to slam the door in the face of a JW in the following 93 years, thus rejecting the JW message, cannot be counted as one of the 'millions'.
i notice the latest yearbook was making a big think about jws being more populous than the country of switzerland.
jws have overtaken a number of small countries in recent years, such as norway, denmark, israel, el salvador, finland, georgia, hong kong and new zealand.
they will be overtaking places like austria, portugal, belgium and greece next.
The point is that JWs are obsessed with numbers and believe that this is all a sign of the last days, God's approval and blessing, and the their rich spiritual heritage.
one of the most persistent myths on this website is that jws are already in decline, the rot has set in, and the descent of the watchtower is inevitable from here on in.
unfortunately the facts do not bear this out.
jws are still increasing even in most developing countries, and they are still growing worldwide at a faster rate than the general population.
What is disturbing to me is that the increases, though modest, are still increases. JWs have to be one of the more meticulous religions out there in only counting as members those who still actually attend services regularly. And not only that, but you need to actively preach for them, otherwise you fall off the member rolls. Contrast that with someone who was baptised as a Catholic in São Paulo in 1972. This person doesn't even have to enter another church for 40 years, and guess what? They are still counted among Brazil's 123 million Catholics. All they would need to do is self-identify as such. I'd be curious to see the real numbers on all the various Christian sects if they used the same criteria as the JWs use and wonder how it compares to the worldwide JW numbers.

They already feel persecuted enough, and this feeds into their 'safe sanctuary from enemies' reasoning. I just don't believe in interrupting any religious service, regardless of the sect involved. They might not have any respect for other beliefs, but I'm certainly not joining them in that.
Better get that time in. Jehovah's a fussy fellow and might just leave you off the list if you don't sell his magazines for at least 10 hours a month.

Personally I think the man is talked about (and compared to) way too much nowadays. That's exactly what he would have wanted, given the outcome of the war. It's only a tea kettle! It could look like any man with parted hair and a moustache. Hitler didn't want to be forgotten as was evidenced in his will, and here we are many years later, obliging him. He has plenty of company in the genocide department, but Pol Pot, Mao, Karadzic, and some unfamiliar Rwandan names and faces don't quite do the trick as the awkward looking man with a Charlie Chaplin moustache does.
